MAUS: A SURVIVOR'S TALE

      Upon reading this, I instantly had a weight on my chest of discomfort. I never like memories of pain and even though we all have them I wish for happier times than those that are bad. With that being said Maus takes place during World War II right around the time of the Holocaust. The fact that the artist made people out to be rats almost could take on a meaning of it's own. He could be calling the population the scum of the earth because of how low rats are in the sight of others. Regardless he gave a powerful message through this memory and through his art form. I've provided below a single image that shows how powerful a picture can be and what lies within this story as a whole.
